As part of our #BeTheChange movement and our commitment to greener spaces focusing on environmental energy saving, Liberty Promenade’s Technical Team implemented two huge lighting projects.
The first lighting project was implemented in mid-December 2019, with the aim of upgrading the mall’s internal lighting. Here, 6 499 older generation lights were replaced with more modern LED light fittings throughout our mall. This allows our customers to enjoy improved lighting levels and an even brighter and greener shopping experience.
The second phase of the lighting project is currently underway and will include an upgrade to all external parking lights. This benefits the environment, as LED lights are up to 80% more efficient than traditional lighting. Ninety-five percent of the energy in LED lights is converted into light and only 5% is lost as heat. Less energy use reduces the demand from power plants and decreases greenhouse gas emissions.
It’s the small and big changes that enable us as a community-based mall to make a difference.
